Summary: The BIM Manager role involves enhancing Asset Information Management (AIM) capabilities within the department, focusing on the validation and transfer of structured project information into asset management systems. The position is crucial for ensuring compliance with BIM standards and promoting best practices across projects and facilities management. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead BIM strategy and ensure compliance with BS EN ISO 19650 and the UK BIM Framework.
  • Develop and maintain Asset Information Requirements (AIR), Exchange Information Requirements (EIR), and digital handover protocols.
  • Oversee BIM deliverables, audits, and quality assurance across project portfolios.
  • Ensure integrity, compliance, and accuracy of model data for operational use.
  • Support integration between BIM and CAFM/IWMS platforms.
  • Enable structured data outputs (IFC, COBie) for asset and facilities management systems.
  • Support lifecycle asset management, maintenance, space planning, and sustainability objectives.
  • Promote effective use of Common Data Environments (CDE).
  • Lead and mentor Assistant BIM Managers and Revit Technicians.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, BIM adoption, and cross-department collaboration.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive digital innovation, including support toward digital twin capability.

Key Skills:

Summary:

  • The department is undertaking an internal capability uplift to strengthen expertise across Asset Information Management (AIM).
  • The successful candidates will support the development of a collaborative Asset Information Management function, ensuring structured project information is validated, assured, and effectively transferred into asset management systems.
  • The role focuses on delivering the “golden thread” of information across the estate to enable informed strategic decision-making and long-term asset performance improvement.
  • Reporting to the AIM G7, this position plays a key role in implementing assurance processes and promoting best practice in Building Information Modelling (BIM) across projects and facilities management operations.
