Summary: A Business Intelligence Developer is needed to join the Client MU's Central Business Operations Support team in Telford on a contract basis until June 2026. The role requires expertise in Microsoft technologies for developing BI solutions, including dashboards and reports, while ensuring data accuracy and providing user support. The position involves collaboration within cross-functional teams and a strong understanding of Business Intelligence strategies to meet organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to deliver robust BI solutions using Microsoft technologies.
- Design, develop, and implement Business Intelligence solutions, including dashboards and reports using Power BI and SSRS.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability for business decision-making.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve data and reporting issues through strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Provide user training, documentation, and ongoing support for BI tools, dashboards, and reports.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and related database technologies for ETL processes.
- Proficiency in Power Apps and Power Automate for advanced data workflows and automation.
- Certification in Microsoft Power Platform, SQL Server, or related technologies.
- Familiarity with data modelling and data warehousing.
- Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and information security principles.

Role purpose/summary
A Business Intelligence Developer with the following skills/experience is required to work with the Client MU's Central Business Operations Support team (CBOS).
Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to deliver robust BI solutions using Microsoft technologies.
Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, and related database technologies for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
Solution Development: Skilled in designing, developing, and implementing Business Intelligence solutions, including dashboards and reports using Power BI and SSRS.
Data Integration: Proficiency in integrating data from multiple sources and ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability for business decision-making.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve data and reporting issues.
Training & Support: Track record of providing user training, documentation, and ongoing support for BI tools, dashboards, and reports.
Business Acumen: Understanding of Business Intelligence strategies and their application to support organisational objectives.
Other Skills/Experience:
- Power Apps and Power Automate for advanced data workflows and automation.
- Certification in Microsoft Power Platform, SQL Server, or related technologies.
- Familiarity with data modelling and data warehousing.
