Summary: The BI Developer role involves designing and developing data models, schemas, and pipelines for a leading IT services supplier. This hybrid position allows for remote work while requiring attendance at the London office four days a week. The contract is temporary, lasting over six months, and aims to start as soon as possible. Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design and development of efficient data models, schemas and pipelines
- Develop data ingestion and processing solutions using existing framework
- Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures and functions to extract, transform and load data
- Optimize query performance to ensure data integrity and consistency
- Providing BI technology subject matter expertise, collaborating with risk stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement data security measures and access controls aligned with firm's governance policies
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines; identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions
- Participate in code reviews and document change made in the required format
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment and monitoring of data solutions
Key Skills:
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with an in-depth understanding of advanced SQL concepts and techniques
- Experience working with large scale, multi-terabyte data warehouses
- Solid knowledge of data warehousing principles, dimensional modelling and star schema design
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including their architecture, features and best practices
- Familiarity with data integration tools and techniques (ELT, ETL)
- Expert level PowerBI experience
- Familiarity with Scripting languages (eg Python, Powershell) for data processing and automation
- Experience with dbt (data build tool) for data transformation and modelling

BI Developer
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires BI Developer to be based at their client's office in London, UK.
This is a hybrid role - you can work remotely in the UK and attend the London office 4 days per week .
This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap
Day rate: Competitive Market rate
