Summary: CMC Markets is seeking a Banking Operations & Controls Specialist for a 6-month fixed-term contract within their Bank Administration function. The role focuses on maintaining governance, controls, and operational administration across global banking and payment service provider relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong controls mindset and experience in banking operations or financial services administration, working onsite in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain governance across bank and broker account mandates and signatory structures.
- Coordinate periodic mandate reviews and ad-hoc updates, ensuring documentation, approvals and evidence are accurately maintained.
- Support the opening, maintenance and closure of corporate bank and broker accounts across multiple entities.
- Track and maintain records of account governance activities, ensuring a clear audit trail.
- Coordinate KYC requests from banks, brokers and payment service providers, ensuring responses are accurate, complete and delivered within required timelines.
- Manage confidential documentation and ensure secure handling and appropriate access controls.
- Maintain vendor information including contacts, escalation routes and service details.
- Coordinate onboarding documentation and timelines for new vendor relationships.
- Administer user access across banking and broker platforms in line with role-based access frameworks and segregation of duties standards.
- Maintain accurate access logs, approvals and evidence to support governance and audit requirements.
- Support periodic access reviews and escalate any inappropriate access or segregation conflicts.
- Work with IT and vendors to configure and maintain access frameworks for new platforms where required.
- Support internal and external audits by coordinating bank confirmations and providing requested documentation.
- Maintain an audit-ready repository of mandates, approvals, KYC documentation and access records.
- Identify and escalate control gaps, missing approvals or governance concerns.
- Support incident resolution relating to access issues, documentation gaps or vendor administration.
- Identify opportunities to improve governance processes, reduce operational risk and improve turnaround times.
- Maintain procedures, templates and trackers to support scalable operations and team cross-coverage.
- Contribute to strengthening the overall Bank Administration control framework.
Key Skills:
- Experience within regulated financial services, such as banking operations, treasury operations or financial services administration.
- Experience administering online banking or broker platform access, including role-based permissions.
- Experience coordinating corporate KYC documentation with internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of operational controls, segregation of duties and dual-control frameworks.
- Experience working in environments subject to audit or regulatory oversight.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
- Knowledge of AML/CTF principles within financial services.

This role plays a key part in maintaining the governance, controls and operational administration across our global banking, broker and payment service provider (PSP) relationships. You will support the firm’s control framework by ensuring strong governance around bank accounts, mandates, platform access, KYC coordination and vendor administration. The role requires a strong controls mindset, attention to detail and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to ensure processes remain audit-ready, secure and compliant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in banking operations, treasury operations or financial services administration who enjoys working within a structured control environment. Please note that this is an onsite role that will require you to work within our London office (near Liverpool street) 5 days on site per week .
