The post holder will practice within a team of nursing staff, and act as a ‘named nurse’ for a group of patients: assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating their care needs. Initially requiring direct supervision the post holder will develop and maintain specialist skills in order to provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised patient care enabling them to work without direct supervision. They will be expected to show an intention for developing specialised neonatal nursing care skills.
