Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of non-obstetric ultrasound examinations (general, gynae, MSK).
  • Produce high-quality ultrasound reports under the delegation of the lead radiologist.
  • Maintain good communication and relationships with stakeholders, including patients.
  • Ensure verbal consent is gained from patients or carers before procedures.
  • Maintain CPD and personal competence in ultrasound practices.
  • Perform all ultrasound procedures to a high professional standard.
  • Encourage feedback as part of the departmental quality initiative.

Job Overview

DIMENSIONS OF JOB:

Cross-site working at Wexham Park Hospital, Heatherwood and Slough Hospitals, to cover bank shifts across 7-day working as and when required. To work as a bank clinical sonographer delivering a high-quality ultrasound service.

Purpose Of Job

Perform a range of non-obstetric ultrasound examinations (general, gynae, MSK) Produce high-quality ultrasound reports under the delegation of the lead radiologist for Ultrasound and in accordance with accepted practice and protocols within the Obstetrics Department Overall responsible for contributing to providing a high-quality and efficient ultrasound service Maintains the high standards of the department by contributing to individual and team objectives.

Service Delivery and Quality

  • Maintain good communication and relationships with stakeholders, including patients and other users of the service
  • Able to communicate results and findings
  • Provide relevant information to ensure that verbal consent is gained from patients or carers before undertaking any ultrasound procedure

  • Responsible for maintaining CPD and own level of competence

  • Perform all ultrasound procedures to a high professional standard in accordance with the departmental protocols
