Summary: The Bank Cook at Bearehill Care Home is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals that cater to the dietary needs of residents. This role involves menu planning, kitchen management, and maintaining health and safety standards. The Cook will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure a welcoming dining experience for residents. The position requires culinary qualifications and a passion for cooking in a care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals according to residents' dietary needs.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning for balanced, nutritious diets.
- Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene.
- Maintain accurate records of food supplies and monitor food safety.
- Ensure proper stock rotation and assist in ordering supplies.
- Uphold health and safety standards in kitchen and dining areas.
- Oversee cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and dining areas.
Key Skills:
- Culinary Qualifications: City & Guilds 706 " 1 & 2, or equivalent.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Food Hygiene: Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Communication Skills: Good communication to understand dietary needs.
- Initiative: Ability to work independently when needed.
- Specialized Food Preparation: Experience in preparing food for specific needs.
