Summary: The role of Band 6 Specialist MSK Physiotherapist involves working autonomously with complex patients in outpatient settings, providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice. Key Responsibilities:

  • Practice in accordance with CSP Rules of Professional Conduct and HCPC Regulations.
  • Work autonomously with a caseload of increasingly complex patients.
  • Manage patients within outpatient settings, including video and telephone consultations.
  • Develop postgraduate clinical skills and knowledge through CPD, IST programmes, self-directed learning, and specialist courses.
  • Assess and treat patients with complex physical, psychological, and multi-pathology conditions.
  • Use clinical reasoning and assessment techniques to provide accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Interpret clinical and non-clinical information and investigations where appropriate.
  • Obtain informed consent and work within legal and professional frameworks.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide education, support, and training to colleagues, students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in audit and research activities where appropriate.
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and legally compliant clinical records.
  • Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures.

Key Skills:

  • Valid registration with the relevant governing body (NMC and/or HCPC).
  • Minimum of 6 months’ relevant experience.
  • Proactive approach and willingness to contribute within busy teams.
  • Fully compliant with NHS Framework or individual client standards.
  • Ability to work independently while recognising limitations and seeking guidance when needed.

Location: Carlisle Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:30am to 16:30pm. The role is for 3 months and to start on the 1st of June. Role Requirements:

  • Must have the right to work in the UK and be physically present in the UK at the time of application
