Summary: The BACS Payments Business Analyst role at JP Morgan in London involves supporting the development of a new internal payments platform over a 9-month contract. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary subject matter expert on payment schemes, leading integration efforts and ensuring seamless connections.
- Drive the development and execution of the product roadmap, focusing on enhancing payment capabilities in an agile manner.
- Effectively gather business requirements and translate them into stories and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
- Stay up-to-date with payment scheme developments and regulations to design and build payments connectivity.
- Optimise the payments platform performance for speed, security, reliability, and scalability.
- Support implementation and testing, including operational set-up and training.
- Participate in defining operating model and procedures for management of connected payment schemes.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Controls to ensure proper process flows and training materials are in place.
- Assist with the running of Agile ceremonies, e.g., DSUs.
- Serve as the day-to-day contact for all scheme related product queries, addressing and escalating issues to management.
Key Skills:
- Experience working as a Business Analyst on UK payment schemes.
- Strong working knowledge of BACS (BACS DD and BACS DC) payment scheme.
- Knowledge of financial messaging e.g., scheme messages, ISO20022.
- Strong understanding of payment operations.
- Comfortable working with financial grade APIs.
- Experience working directly with clearing and settlement mechanisms (CSMs).
- Project Management / Delivery qualifications e.g., Agile.
- Knowledge of the external/competitor landscape, key players, and legislative environment (Open Banking, PSD2/3).

We are seeking a BACS Payments Business Analyst to join JP Morgan in London on an initial 9 months contract to help with the development of a new internal payments platform.

Job Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary subject matter expert on payment schemes, leading integration efforts and ensuring seamless connections
- Drive the development and execution of the product roadmap, focusing on enhancing our payment capabilities in an agile manner
- Effectively gather business requirements and translate them into stories and acceptance criteria for both in-house and external engineering teams
- Stay up-to-date with the payment scheme developments and regulations, to design and build payments connectivity with future compatibility and compliance
- Optimise the payments platform performance to ensure speed, security, reliability, and scalability
- Support implementation and testing, including operational set-up and training where required
- Participate in defining operating model and procedures for management of the connected payment schemes
- Collaborate with Engineering, Controls etc. to ensure the right process flows, procedures, training materials, etc are in place in good time
