Backup Administrator

Summary: The Backup Administrator role involves designing, implementing, and managing various enterprise storage solutions, including IBM FlashSystem and HPE 3PAR. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and effective disaster recovery solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage IBM FlashSystem (9500, 7300, 5200), HPE 3PAR, Nimble, and MSA storage solutions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for storage infrastructures, including configurations, procedures, and best practices.
• Scope, plan, and manage data migration projects in alignment with team skills and client needs.
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery and replication solutions using IBM Global Mirror, Metro Mirror, FlashCopy, and HPE Remote Copy.
• Collaborate with server, network, and application teams to ensure seamless integration of storage systems.
• Configure and support Brocade SAN switches, including VLANs, link aggregation, STP, QoS, and security settings.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for storage and SAN environments.
• Design and manage backup and recovery solutions using Veritas NetBackup and Rubrik.
• Stay current on Brocade technologies and evaluate new features for adoption.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience with enterprise storage platforms (IBM FlashSystem, HPE 3PAR, Nimble, MSA).
• Hands-on expertise with SAN switching, especially Brocade environments.
• Strong knowledge of backup and recovery tools like NetBackup and Rubrik.
• Experience in implementing storage replication and DR technologies.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
