Backend Software Engineer – HPC & Data | Contract | London Hybrid ( 3 days onsite)
I'm looking for a Backend Software Engineer. This is not a traditional Data Engineer role . The focus is on backend software engineering around large-scale data and HPC infrastructure .
What you'll be doing
- Building backend tools and services around large data sets
- Working with database systems and APIs
- Developing and supporting data pipelines and data replication
- Working across AWS and on-premises data centre environments
- Designing systems for distributed data and compute environments
- Working with stakeholders to understand requirements and turn them into technical solutions
- Contributing to platform and system design
- Supporting secure and reliable production systems
- Participating in an on-call rotation
Must have
- Strong Backend Software Engineering experience preferably with Go / Golang
- Experience with data pipelines / data management
- Experience with databases and APIs
- Experience working with distributed systems
- HPC experience
- Experience with AWS and/or on-prem infrastructure
- Experience with data replication
- Platform/system design experience
- Security-focused backend or platform development
