Summary: The role of Backend Developer focuses on leveraging expertise in NodeJS, TypeScript, and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) to deliver scalable and reliable solutions for a leading UK Telecommunications service provider. The position requires a Senior Technical Leader capable of overseeing multiple projects and making strategic technical decisions that align with business objectives. The contract is set for six months, starting on April 28, 2025, and is hybrid in nature. Candidates must demonstrate a strong technical background and leadership skills in engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain server-side applications using NodeJS and TypeScript.
- Utilize Google Kubernetes Engine for deploying and scaling containerized applications.
- Oversee multiple projects and provide leadership within engineering teams.
- Collaborate with enterprise/solution architecture stakeholders to design application architecture.
- Mentor technical leaders within Frontend Engineering to ensure scalable solutions meet business needs.
- Make strategic technical decisions impacting multiple teams or departments.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in NodeJS for server-side application development.
- Experience with TypeScript and its features as a superset of JavaScript.
- Knowledge of Google Kubernetes Engine for application deployment and scaling.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to understand both technical and business aspects of projects.
- Experience in mentoring and guiding technical teams.
