The contract will be 6 months+ starting asap on a 5x5x4 shift pattern.
The B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer will have responsibility for the supervision of Mechanics and inspection and certification of scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, structural repairs and functional tests on Airframe, Engine and Electrical systems. They will support the Aircraft Check Manager and allocate tasks to ensure the daily workload is completed and the production plan remains on schedule. These roles report to the Maintenance Manager - Production and are based at the London Gatwick Hangar facility.
B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer Responsibilities
Supervise a team of Mechanics performing Base Maintenance on customer aircraft.
Inspection and certification of scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, structural repairs and functional tests on Airframe, Engine and Electrical systems.
Complete all assigned work in a timely manner to optimise aircraft downtime.
Ensure aircraft technical log book, maintenance documentation, job cards, work packages and zonal handovers are completed accurately and within prescribed timescales.
Maintain a high standard of husbandry and cleanliness within assigned work areas.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures.
Promote a just culture and report all incidents and occurrences in the Boeing Safety Management System.
Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the Aircraft Check Manager.
Actively support, promote and contribute to continuous improvement ideas and lean principles.
Assist the management team in the day to day running of the London Gatwick Operation.
Undertake any reasonable activities as required, including working away from London Gatwick.

Required Qualifications
Hold a valid UK CAA Category B1 Part-66 Licence.
Type rating on one or more of the following aircraft - B737 NG, B777 or B787.
Required Experience
Must have a minimum of 1 year exercising certification privileges with experience working in a Line or Base Maintenance environment.
Demonstrate 6 months recent experience on type and ability to hold and maintain appropriate company authorisations specific to role.
Comprehensive understanding of Part-145 regulations.
Previous experience of using AMOS or other Maintenance Management Systems.
