Key Responsibilities
- Urgent High-Level Design (HLD): Rapidly develop an Azure-centric HLD that prioritizes security and robustness to gain immediate approval from technical architects and IRR.
- Design a solution that incorporates Azure Files and Azure Backup, ensuring that while primary storage is locally redundant, backups are stored in a different region (e.g., outside UK South) for disaster recovery.
- Address long-term data retention needs (up to 22 years) and the potential for a separate Azure subscription for the business unit.
- Migration Strategy & Tooling (Sharegate): Utilize Sharegate to facilitate the migration of 7 TB of data from SharePoint 2019 to Azure.
- Ensure the migration preserves metadata, utilizing Sharegate’s ability to export metadata into readable formats like CSV for long-term archival accessibility.
- Provide an end-to-end testing framework to validate data integrity post-migration.
- Automated Infrastructure Provisioning: Author Terraform scripts to provision the necessary Azure environment, including networking (private endpoints/tunnels) and identity controls (Entra ID).
- Deliver validated non-production and test environments to allow for immediate migration dry-runs.
- Stakeholder & Financial Reporting: Provide clear monthly cost implications and forecasts for the proposed Azure resources.
- Present milestones and technical designs to the client, ensuring they understand the timeline required to hit the mid-July deadline.
