Role Description Skills: We are seeking a highly experienced and technically astute Enterprise Solution Architect to join a leading London-based reinsurance company. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping our overall data architecture, driving the blueprint and end-to-end design of our critical solutions, and modernising our platform, especially as we embrace a new SaaS product for reinsurance. You will be at the forefront of building a modern, scalable, and secure data estate within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, leveraging Databricks as the core platform. Your expertise will unlock significant value across our core functional areas, including Claims, Reinsurance, Customer Experience, Operations, Deal, Pre-Deal, Post-Deal, Insurance Administration, TPA ingestion, Actuarial, Finance, and Regulatory Reporting, enabling us to become a truly data-driven organisation.
Must-Haves:
* Enterprise Architecture Experience: Proven experience operating as a Solution/Enterprise Architect within a large enterprise environment.
* Reinsurance/Insurance Background: Strong working knowledge and experience within the insurance or reinsurance sector.
* Cloud & Data Expertise: Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services, particularly for data analytics and engineering, including Databricks (Delta Lake architecture, optimisation, and advanced data processing).
* API & Integration: Extensive experience with API and integration architecture and implementation.
* Solution Development: Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive solution architecture to satisfy complex business problems.
* Data Modelling: Expertise in data modelling (conceptual, logical, and physical) and experience with data warehousing and data lake architecture for high-performance analytics.
* Communication & Influence: Excellent communication, collaboration, and strong stakeholder management skills across all levels of an organisation. Ability to document and present complex data architectures to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
* Hybrid Working Flexibility: A flexible approach to hybrid working.
Nice-to-Haves:
* Experience leading application modernisation initiatives.
* Awareness of functions such as general ledger, payments, reconciliations, settlements, accounting, actuarial, and risk within financial services.
* Experience with pricing models, claims processing, and fraud detection within the insurance sector.
