Summary: The Azure Platform Architect role focuses on designing and delivering developer-centric application platforms using AKS and Terraform within a regulated financial environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and evolve Azure-based platforms to support containerized application delivery via AKS
- Define Terraform-based platform modules that enable consistent, reusable provisioning patterns
- Design solutions with a focus on developer experience, service onboarding, and environment consistency
- Support end-to-end SDLC integration, including CI/CD, configuration management, and progressive delivery
- Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps teams, and governance functions to align with enterprise delivery standards
- Provide technical guidance on platform adoption, service templates, and deployment best practices
Key Skills:
- Strong experience architecting on AKS, including workload patterns, autoscaling, and multi-tenant design
- Proficient in Terraform for modular, scalable platform provisioning
- Deep understanding of application delivery pipelines, with solid grounding in the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Familiarity with service discovery, ingress design, and runtime observability
- Experience supporting platforms in regulated environments (eg finance, insurance, healthcare)
- Strong communicator able to bridge platform capabilities with application team needs
