Summary: The Azure Infrastructure SME role involves providing expert-level support and administration for enterprise Azure environments, focusing on IaaS and PaaS services. The position emphasizes improving cloud security, ensuring compliance, and maintaining operational excellence while driving continuous improvements in automation and cost optimization. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing Azure services aligned with Cloud Adoption Framework standards. This is a 6-month contract based in London with an inside IR35 status.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level support, administration, and optimization of enterprise Azure environments.
- Manage Azure IaaS and PaaS services, improving cloud security posture.
- Ensure a resilient, compliant, and well-governed cloud estate aligned with Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Landing Zone standards.
- Maintain operational excellence, supporting application and database platforms.
- Drive continuous improvements in security, automation, and cost optimization.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
- Proven expertise in CAF-aligned Azure Landing Zones.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Cloud and remediation practices.
- Experience with Azure compute, networking, storage, and backup solutions.
- Strong understanding of Azure security services (Firewall, Application Gateway, WAF).
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and identity management.
- Proficiency in automation using PowerShell, Logic Apps, or Azure Automation.
