Summary: The role of Cloud Infrastructure Engineer focuses on supporting and maintaining both on-premises and Azure cloud infrastructure services for a global IT consultancy. The position requires proactive management of IT operations and infrastructure projects, ensuring security and reliability. This is a 6-month contract role based in Birmingham, with a hybrid working arrangement. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in infrastructure operations and Azure services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the security, availability, integrity, and day-to-day support of core infrastructure services, including on-premise and Cloud.
  • Provide operational support and maintenance for on-premises and Azure cloud infrastructure services.
  • Take proactive ownership of IT infrastructure operations, support, and project-related activities.
  • Monitor and manage infrastructure-related tickets/requests and technical escalations.
  • Assist with regular operational activities such as disaster recovery tests and out-of-hours work as required.
  • Contribute to the optimisation, monitoring, maintenance, and improvement of all infrastructure services.
  • Coordinate activities required to deliver a strong infrastructure operations service.

Key Skills:

  • Hands-on experience as an infrastructure operations support engineer.
  • Experience in all aspects of enterprise Windows platform management.
  • Maintaining and creating comprehensive documentation including processes, procedures, and guides.
  • Support and development of core infrastructure services, including Windows Server Administration (2012/2016/2019/2022).
  • Cloud Platform experience, preferably Azure.
  • Experience with hyperconverged hosting platforms (e.g., Nutanix).
  • VMware System Administration skills.
  • Proficiency in Powershell.
  • Experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g., CommVault, Azure Backup).
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., SCCM, Group Policy).

Salary (Rate): 300
