Summary: The Azure Data Engineer role involves leveraging Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and SQL to manage and integrate core data systems within a consultancy focused on a significant utilities project. The position requires a proactive individual capable of working autonomously in a dynamic team environment, ensuring high-quality data flows into the Master Data Management platform. This opportunity is part of a multi-year project with substantial growth potential following a recent £50 million investment. Candidates have the option for either a contract or permanent position based on their preference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Azure services to manage data pipelines, storage, and processing.
- Ensure data is structured and processed correctly within the MDM platform.
- Implement data quality measurement processes and generate analytics.
- Handle data from multiple sources and manage its ingestion and transformation.
- Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Develop and maintain exception reporting for data quality monitoring.
- Work efficiently within a busy team, demonstrating proactive problem-solving.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on MS Azure, Databricks, and SQL.
- Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, and Prophecy.
- Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) systems.
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT pipeline development and data transformation.
- Proficiency in data quality assurance and analytics.
- Ability to work independently and drive improvements in data processes.
- Understanding of property data assets integration is a plus.
