Summary: The Azure Data Architect will collaborate with application development, product, and architecture teams to create data strategies and platform roadmaps, fostering a culture of quality and ownership. This role involves designing enterprise data management frameworks and ensuring data security and compliance. The position is hybrid, with a preference for candidates in Leawood, KS or Burlington, MA, but remote work is also an option within the United States. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SQL, Snowflake, and Azure Data Lake, among other technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and architect data systems, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Define entity relationship diagrams in collaboration with the business intelligence team to align data product designs.
- Develop a framework for how data is modeled, stored, organized, and accessed.
- Establish a common data dictionary to maintain consistency across the organization.
- Collaborate with key business and technology stakeholders to develop and implement data strategies which align with business processes.
- Responsible for ensuring data security and compliance with regulations.
- Review and analyze data infrastructure, identifying data sources and define data management policies.
- Develop and maintain necessary APIs in support of the organization’s application and data requirements.
- Establish a data management plan which introduces consistent and common data architecture with new and existing solutions.
- Accountable for overall health and quality of data solutions, systems and platforms.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business intelligence team, business stakeholders, and technical staff on-site and in virtual environments.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer-related field or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years experience with SQL and alternatives such as MySQL.
- 3+ years experience with Snowflake.
- 5+ years experience with Azure Data Lake.
- 5+ years experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or similar products.
- Experience with a micro-services architecture, containerization, Azure cloud, and SaaS solutions.
- Experience with SDLC and agile software development methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire confidence, ownership, and accountability in the platforms within scope.
- Proven experience influencing and building trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proven experience creating a vision, long-term roadmap and team execution to achieve the outcomes of plan.
