Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day Microsoft Azure support and administration.
- Monitor Azure infrastructure, services and platform health.
- Investigate and resolve Azure alerts, incidents and service requests.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, connectivity and performance issues.
- Support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
- Administer Azure Virtual Machines, storage, networking and application services.
- Support Azure networking including VNets, NSGs, VPNs, DNS and IP addressing.
- Implement routine firewall and networking changes.
- Support Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD and Microsoft 365.
- Carry out infrastructure patching, maintenance and upgrades.
- Support end-user computing and device configuration where required.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles.
- Work within ITIL-style incident, change and service-management processes.
- Assist with infrastructure projects and platform improvement activity.
- Support security monitoring, vulnerability management and audit requirements.
- Escalate complex issues appropriately to senior engineers.
Required Experience
- Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
- Commercial experience supporting Azure infrastructure.
- Experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure and technical incidents.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Experience with Azure VNets, NSGs, VPN and DNS.
- Practical experience with Azure Virtual Desktop / AVD.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365.
- Good understanding of virtual machines, storage and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage infrastructure tickets through to resolution.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Experience
- AZ-900 or AZ-104 certification.
- PowerShell scripting.
- Bicep.
- Terraform.
- Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Jira / Confluence.
- ITIL / service management.
- Financial services, fintech, payments or banking technology.
- SaaS or technology product environments.
The Ideal Candidate
This role would suit a Cloud Engineer, Azure Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Support Engineer, Azure Support Engineer or Infrastructure Support Engineer who enjoys being hands-on.
Candidates should have enough commercial experience to operate independently without requiring constant technical direction.
Candidates from SaaS, technology, fintech, financial services, payments and in-house commercial environments are particularly encouraged to apply.
MSP candidates will also be considered where they have strong, hands-on Azure support experience.
This is not an Azure Architect or high-level design role. The focus is on practical Azure infrastructure support, troubleshooting, administration and BAU operations.
