Summary: The Azure Architect role in London involves leading complex infrastructure transformations with a focus on Azure cloud architecture and Linux administration. The position requires active SC Clearance and entails responsibilities such as cloud strategy assessment, architectural leadership, and team management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT, particularly with Azure and Linux systems, and will be responsible for driving large-scale migrations and ensuring security compliance. This is a hybrid role with a contract duration of 6 months, potentially extendable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end On-prem/Public Cloud assessments using Azure Migrate.
  • Develop High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, including comprehensive target architecture diagrams and Bill of Materials (BoM).
  • Drive large-scale migrations of Linux-based workloads to Azure, ensuring solutions align with TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and ROI goals.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Linux environments, managing kernel tuning, logical volumes, shell scripting, and advanced networking.
  • Oversee Azure IAM, Key Vault, and general security protocols within a UNIX environment.
  • Implement and tune high-performance web stacks using Apache, Varnish for caching, and HAProxy for load balancing.
  • Manage and technically govern a team of 5+ infrastructure engineers, providing guidance on root-cause analysis and complex troubleshooting.

Key Skills:

  • 12+ years in IT, with at least 5+ years focused on Azure Infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS, Networking, Storage).
  • Proven track record using Azure Migrate and driving complex solutioning for banking, healthcare, or insurance domains.
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux systems (OS restoration, daemon management, Postfix/SendMail, and file-based storage).
  • Deep understanding of Azure Networking, SIAM, and data security.
  • Expert-level ability to perform root-cause analysis on processor, memory, IO, and cluster-related issues.
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management tools like Ansible or Chef.
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, and scripting in Python, Bash, or Ruby.
  • Hands-on experience with TLS termination and web traffic optimization.

We are seeking a high-caliber Azure Architect to lead complex infrastructure transformations. In this role, you won't just design solutions; you will govern the technical strategy, mentor a dedicated team of engineers, and bridge the gap between deep technical Linux administration and high-level Azure cloud architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Strategy & Assessment: Lead end-to-end On-prem/Public Cloud assessments using Azure Migrate. You will be responsible for understanding customer landscapes and designing robust Azure Landing Zones.
  • Architectural Leadership: Develop High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, including comprehensive target architecture diagrams and Bill of Materials (BoM).
  • Migration Execution: Drive large-scale migrations of Linux-based workloads to Azure, ensuring solutions align with TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and ROI goals.
  • Linux Mastery: Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Linux environments, managing kernel tuning, logical volumes, shell scripting, and advanced networking (bonding, bridging, and DNS).
  • Security & Governance: Oversee Azure IAM, Key Vault, and general security protocols within a UNIX environment to ensure compliant and hardened architectures.
  • Performance Optimization: Implement and tune high-performance web stacks using Apache, Varnish for caching, and HAProxy for load balancing.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and technically govern a team of 5+ infrastructure engineers, providing guidance on root-cause analysis and complex troubleshooting.
