About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading technology consultancy helping organisations accelerate their digital transformation journeys through cloud, automation, AI, and modern infrastructure solutions.
They are seeking an experienced and certified AWS Solutions Architect to join a growing cloud practice, working across the full lifecycle of client engagements, from early-stage solution design through to successful delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of organisations across multiple sectors, helping them build secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer engagement and is comfortable moving between architecture design, strategic advisory work, and hands-on implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
- Lead discovery workshops and technical discussions to define cloud strategies and target architectures.
- Design and deliver AWS-based solutions covering cloud migration, modernisation, networking, security, and platform transformation initiatives.
- Support cloud migration programmes including workload assessments, migration planning, tooling configuration, and deployment activities.
- Architect secure and compliant cloud environments, including landing zones, identity and access management, governance frameworks, and network architectures.
- Advise on containerisation and modern application architectures using technologies such as Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, and serverless services.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, architecture diagrams, design decisions, implementation plans, and operational handover materials.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout project lifecycles, providing guidance, identifying risks, and developing effective solutions.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of cloud best practices, frameworks, and reusable assets.
Required Experience
- Established experience in Solutions Architecture, Cloud Engineering, Technical Consulting, or a similar role with a strong AWS focus.
- Proven experience designing and delivering AWS cloud migration and modernisation projects.
- Experience designing secure cloud environments using AWS security services and best practices, including IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and CloudTrail.
- Knowledge of compliance and governance considerations within regulated environments.
- Hands-on experience with containerised workloads and cloud-native deployment methodologies using EKS and/or ECS.
- Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including solution design, technical proposals, and project scoping.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification (required).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification (preferred).
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and Ireland.
