Summary: The AWS Solution Architect will play a crucial role in the Group Data Warehouse project, focusing on the ingestion of data from various business areas to support business intelligence analytics. This position requires expertise in AWS architectures and a strong understanding of secure system design and implementation. The architect will ensure that solutions meet business requirements while adhering to quality standards and cost constraints. Effective communication and documentation of design decisions are essential for collaboration with stakeholders and governance bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure solutions are fit for purpose, meet business requirements, and adhere to quality standards.
- Provide input into project and resource plans and support business case production.
- Identify issues and risks, leading their resolution as required.
- Clearly communicate solution designs and key design decisions to stakeholders and governance forums.
- Oversee solution development and implementation engagement as needed.
- Apply knowledge of technology options and survey the external market for insights and vendors.
- Conduct analysis of technology solution alternatives, including gap analysis and proof of concepts.
- Retain accountability for architecture and design throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage the production of Key Decision Documents and apply governance processes for recommendations.
- Assess and select packaged solutions in partnership with business and IT procurement.
- Produce IT review documents to ensure due diligence in solution selection.
- Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in technology application.
Key Skills:
- Experienced in AWS Solution Architectures.
- Skilled in AWS Step Functions and AWS EventBridge, ECS serverless.
- Experienced in Snowflake.
- Familiar with Continuous Deployment / Continuous Integration pipelines built with GitHub Actions.
- Ideally experienced with DBT.
- Experienced in containerised, serverless architectures.
- Experienced working in agile scrum methodology.
- Understanding of InfoSec principles and experience in designing secure systems.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps best practices.
- Strong communication skills with meticulous documentation abilities.
