Summary: The role of AWS Platform Engineer involves working within a Government Defence business unit to build and maintain AWS infrastructure platforms for National Security Customers. Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain infrastructure platforms on AWS for National Security Customers.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams and end-users to design, develop, deploy, and maintain AWS solutions.
- Identify innovative solutions to complex challenges and contribute to various teams across customer organizations.
- Utilize AWS services and Infrastructure as Code technologies to solve business issues.
- Engage in Agile methodologies to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience with AWS and regarded as a subject matter expert.
- Expertise in AWS services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS, IAM.
- Proficient in scripting languages like Shell, Bash, or Python.
- Knowledge of Linux, networking, routing, and firewalls.
- Strong understanding of operational concepts on AWS, including monitoring and observability.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies (e.g., CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform).
- Familiarity with Version Control Systems (e.g., Git, Mercurial, Perforce).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in an Agile environment (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP).
