Summary: The AWS Platform Engineer role involves working within a Government Defence business unit to build and maintain AWS infrastructure platforms for National Security Customers. The position requires collaboration with various teams to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges while ensuring the security and efficiency of the platforms. Candidates must possess DV security clearance and have substantial experience with AWS technologies. Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain AWS infrastructure platforms for National Security Customers.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams and end-users to design, develop, and deploy solutions.
- Identify innovative solutions to complex challenges in a team environment.
- Utilize AWS services and Infrastructure as Code technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Engage in Agile methodologies to improve project delivery and team collaboration.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience with AWS services and infrastructure.
- Expertise in designing and building with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS, IAM.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Shell, Bash, or Python.
- Knowledge of Linux, networking, routing, and firewalls.
- Strong understanding of AWS operational concepts, including monitoring and observability.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
- Familiarity with Version Control Systems such as Git.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
