Summary: The role of AWS Platform DevOps Engineer is a 6-month contract position based in Birmingham, requiring active SC and NPPV3 clearance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain AWS-based cloud solutions with a focus on best practice cloud security.
  • Provision infrastructure using Terraform and VMs with tools such as Vagrant.
  • Work as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime AWS environment, including automation with configuration management tools.
  • Utilize strong scripting skills for automation tasks.
  • Manage Jenkins and pipeline using Groovy script.
  • Work with Docker containers and Amazon Linux 2023 AMI.
  • Implement system monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Utilize Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for incident and change management.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with AWS technologies (e.g., EC2, RDS, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS).
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, JAVA).
  • Experience with Docker and system monitoring tools.
  • Hands-on DevOps delivery experience in government organizations.

(SC & NPPV3) 6-month Contract Birmingham (Hybrid) £450-£500/day Outside IR35 AWS DevOps Platform Engineer needed for a Contract position that requires travel to Birmingham 2/3 days a week. ACTIVE SC clearance (that has been used within the last 12 months) and NPPV3 (that's been used within the last 6 months) are required for this role. Key skills & experience:

  • Good experience with AWS technologies (e.g., EC2, RDS, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS) to develop and maintain an AWS-based cloud solution, with an emphasis on best practice cloud security.
  • Provisioning infrastructure using Terraform and VMs with tools such as Vagrant.
  • Experience with DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime AWS environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, JAVA) and automation skills.
