Summary: The AWS Platform DevOps Engineer role is a 6-month contract position based in Birmingham, requiring strong AWS expertise and active security clearances (SC & NPPV3). Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain AWS-based cloud solutions with a focus on security best practices.
- Provision infrastructure using Terraform and manage VMs with tools like Vagrant.
- Automate processes using configuration management tools in a 24x7 AWS environment.
- Utilize strong scripting skills for automation tasks.
- Manage Jenkins pipelines using Groovy script.
- Work with Docker containers and Amazon Linux 2023 AMI.
- Implement system monitoring using tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
- Utilize Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for incident and change management.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with AWS technologies (EC2, RDS, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS).
- Experience in DevOps delivery for Digital or Technology projects in government organizations.
- Proficient in scripting languages (Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, JAVA).
- Knowledge of Jenkins and Groovy scripting for CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker and system monitoring tools.
