Summary: The AWS Engineer role is a contract position focused on leading technical delivery for a cloud transformation project at a major UK financial institution. Key Responsibilities:
- Technically lead teams migrating Linux/Unix-based systems to AWS.
- Provide consultative guidance on cloud adoption and DevOps best practices.
- Use infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Puppet) to build scalable, repeatable infrastructure.
- Collaborate using GitLab and GitHub in a CI/CD environment.
- Work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to define architecture and implementation strategies.
Key Skills:

We’re looking for a seasoned AWS Engineer with strong technical leadership skills to join a high-impact project with a global IT services provider, supporting a major UK financial institution on its cloud transformation journey. This role will see you leading technical delivery , mentoring engineering teams, and shaping migration strategies as services are transitioned from on-premise infrastructure to AWS. You’ll be at the forefront of this transformation, driving hands-on solutions while engaging stakeholders at all levels.
