On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a AWS DevOps Engineer for a 9 Month (Inside IR35) contract based Hybrid in either Manchester, Birmingham or Newcastle 3 days per week.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

  • Design and manage the tactics for building reusable libraries, templates and services and own the development of medium-long term strategies for product lines within your Functional and Professional Communities.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with a wide range of organisations and contacts internally and or externally, contributing to set strategic direction for DevOps teams and wider Engineering community.
  • Lead the sharing of knowledge, documentation and good practice with the wider Engineering community.
  • Work closely with senior officers, providing advice and suggesting courses of action, provide coaching, mentoring and support to Software and DevOps Engineer colleagues and peers.
