Summary: The AWS DevOps Engineer will join a dynamic delivery team on a short-term contract to enhance and support a modern cloud infrastructure. This role involves managing scalable services, container orchestration, CI/CD automation, and ensuring infrastructure security across AWS environments. The position requires a strong background in AWS and DevOps practices, with a focus on collaboration and automation. The contract is for three months with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain secure, scalable AWS infrastructure
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS) and container deployments using Docker
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
- Monitor systems and performance using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack
- Write automation scripts in Python or Bash
- Apply best practices for cloud security, networking, and compliance
- Work collaboratively with software teams to ensure smooth, automated deployments
Key Skills:
- Proven track record in AWS DevOps roles within commercial environments
- Deep knowledge of core AWS services: EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS, Route 53, CloudFormation, and VPC
- Strong Kubernetes experience and container orchestration using Amazon EKS
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps workflows
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, security groups, and load balancers
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and system performance tuning

Location: Hybrid - 3 days/week onsite in Sheffield, remainder remote
