Summary: The role of AWS Glue and Redshift Developer involves designing and maintaining data pipelines using AWS technologies, specifically focusing on ETL/ELT workflows. Key Responsibilities:
- Creating and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue to process data from a variety of sources.
- Setting up and administering Redshift clusters, ensuring cost-effective scaling and high performance.
- Developing robust SQL queries, procedures, and transformations to support reporting and analytics.
- Ensuring accuracy, quality, and governance standards are met across all data processes.
- Investigating and resolving issues affecting pipeline performance or data integrity.
- Contributing to continuous improvements in architecture by keeping pace with AWS innovations.
Key Skills:
- Strong practical knowledge of AWS Glue and Redshift, including data catalogues, pipelines, and stored procedure development.
- Advanced SQL expertise, covering query optimisation, analytics functions, and transformation design.
- Solid programming skills in Python, Java, Node.js or .NET.
- Familiarity with Agile practices, test-driven development, and code management tools such as Git.
- Background in data modelling, warehousing techniques, and large-scale integration projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities.
