Summary: The role of AWS Glue and Redshift Developer involves designing and maintaining data pipelines using AWS technologies, specifically focusing on ETL/ELT workflows. The position requires strong SQL skills and experience with AWS Glue and Redshift, as well as a background in data modeling and warehousing. This is a contract position based in Central London, requiring on-site presence 2-3 days per week. The contract runs from October 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue to process data from a variety of sources.
  • Setting up and administering Redshift clusters, ensuring cost-effective scaling and high performance.
  • Developing robust SQL queries, procedures, and transformations to support reporting and analytics.
  • Ensuring accuracy, quality, and governance standards are met across all data processes.
  • Investigating and resolving issues affecting pipeline performance or data integrity.
  • Contributing to continuous improvements in architecture by keeping pace with AWS innovations.

Key Skills:

  • Strong practical knowledge of AWS Glue and Redshift, including data catalogues, pipelines, and stored procedure development.
  • Advanced SQL expertise, covering query optimisation, analytics functions, and transformation design.
  • Solid programming skills in Python, Java, Node.js or .NET.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices, test-driven development, and code management tools such as Git.
  • Background in data modelling, warehousing techniques, and large-scale integration projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities.
