The Role
- Design and implement AWS engineering standards, guardrails and reusable development patterns
- Support application modernisation and cloud migration initiatives
- Help engineering teams adopt AWS services, tooling and best practices
- Conduct technical research, proof-of-concepts and architecture assessments
- Drive improvements in developer experience and software delivery practices
- Partner with engineering, platform, security and architecture teams
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, coaching and mentoring
- Influence engineering direction and cloud adoption across multiple delivery teams
Required Experience
- Strong software engineering background with extensive AWS application development experience
- Deep understanding of AWS services, cloud-native architectures and developer tooling
- Experience with AWS Step Functions and distributed application architectures
- Strong knowledge of modern software engineering practices, CI/CD and automation
- Ability to operate in complex enterprise environments and influence technical decision-making
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven experience driving adoption of new technologies, standards and engineering practices
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience within Financial Services, Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance or other regulated environments
- Experience working within governance, risk, compliance or security-focused engineering environments
- Experience with AI-assisted software development tools
- Knowledge of containerised development environments
- Exposure to telemetry, engineering analytics and reporting
- Data engineering or analytics experience
