Summary: The Senior AWS Engineer role focuses on backend development, specifically enhancing AWS Lambda functions and ensuring the resilience of step functions. The position requires participation in the full software lifecycle and collaboration with various teams, including those in the US. Candidates should have a strong background in AWS serverless technologies and be proficient in TypeScript or JavaScript. This contract position is hybrid, requiring some in-office presence in Isleworth, UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop using TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Participate in the full software lifecycle, including support and continuous integration.
- Contribute to the technical direction of the team.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other developers on the team.
- Share and generate new ideas, providing constructive and useful feedback to peers.
- Work with internal teams, external vendors, and colleagues in the US.
- Quickly build prototypes and collaborate with experts in Machine Learning.
Key Skills:
- At least 2 years of experience as an AWS software developer.
- Expertise in AWS serverless best practices.
- Proven ability to refactor and write performant and clean code.
- Experience or ability to quickly pick up JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience working with CI/CD in an agile team.
- Recent experience writing Lambdas in TypeScript or JavaScript, NOT Python.
- Experience with Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, AppSync/GraphQL, API Gateway, and Step Functions.
- Responsibility for reviewing and testing your own and teammates’ code.
- A restless attitude and a drive to improve processes.
- AWS Certificates are a big bonus.
