Contract Term: Initial 6 months, with potential extension

Location & Work Model: London - Hybrid, 2-3 days per week onsite

Rate: £600 per day, Outside IR35

Principal AWS Architect & Engineer | AWS | EKS | AI Voice Platform

An exciting opportunity for a hands-on Principal AWS Architect & Engineer to lead the architecture and engineering of an innovative, AI-powered voice platform for the government sector.

This advisory and hands-on role combines cloud architecture, complex AWS networking, AI/ML integration and production engineering, giving you the opportunity to shape a secure, scalable platform from its pilot phase onwards.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the AWS architecture, designing secure, scalable and highly available infrastructure using EKS, EC2/Nitro, VPC, NLB, SageMaker and Amazon Bedrock.
• Deploy and manage LiveKit on EKS, integrating AI-powered voice services, including ElevenLabs.
• Troubleshoot complex AWS networking and connectivity issues across TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, load balancing and SIP/telephony.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD using Terraform or CloudFormation, alongside robust monitoring and root-cause analysis.
• Provide technical leadership across cloud security, IAM, compliance, production support and GDS-compliant application pages and reporting.

About You

• 10+ years of experience, with strong hands-on AWS architecture and engineering expertise.
• Expert knowledge of AWS networking, VPC, NLB/ALB, IAM and cloud security.
• Strong Kubernetes/Amazon EKS experience, with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and scripting skills.
• Experience with SageMaker and/or Bedrock, ideally supporting AI/ML workloads; SIP/VoIP or telephony integration experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead architecture decisions while remaining hands-on. AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification is advantageous.
