Summary: The Avaloq Developer role in Glasgow involves leading development efforts within the Banking and Diversified Financials Practice, specifically supporting Barclays Private Bank. The position requires expertise in Avaloq and related technologies to deliver high-quality banking IT solutions. The developer will mentor team members, manage integrations, and ensure adherence to best practices in coding and testing. This is a hybrid role with a contract duration of 4 months, potentially extendable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Avaloq expertise to enable delivery teams.
  • Work with Avaloq teams to translate end-user requirements into system requirements.
  • Review requirements documents from clients.
  • Develop customizations on Avaloq banking solutions using Avaloq scripting language.
  • Perform code reviews and establish coding standards.
  • Mentor and train developers on Avaloq coding best practices.
  • Prepare and execute test scenarios using Orbium TestMaster.
  • Manage integration and system testing.
  • Configure Avaloq for Banking Products, Securities, Derivatives, Forex, Structured Products, Forwards & Spots, and Money Market Products.
  • Document Technical Specifications and Unit Test Artifacts.
  • Conduct functional and technical training on Avaloq.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to build assets and accelerators.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5+ years as an Avaloq Techno SME in a large organization.
  • 5+ years of experience in Java J2EE and Oracle environments, acting as a Technical Lead for at least 2 years.
  • Expertise in other Core & Wealth solutions like Intellect Wealth Management, Temenos WealthSuite, or Finacle Wealth Management is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and wealth banking expertise, with deep knowledge of securities, bonds, mutual funds, structured products, derivatives, Forex, forwards, spots, etc.
  • Understanding of Wealth Management and Private Banking business and its ecosystem (Custodian, Depository, Broker, Registrar, etc.).
  • Experience in preparing Functional Design, Technical Specifications, and Test Cases.
  • Familiarity with GIT, Agile, Scrum, and Jira.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Confident, articulate, and analytical problem-solver.
  • Team player with the ability to lead and mentor developers.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with business stakeholders and technical teams.
