Summary: The Automation Tester role at a Challenger Bank focuses on enhancing the testing processes for core banking projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with digital or modernization teams to understand project scope and business requirements
• Work in multi-disciplinary Agile teams and follow a shift-left approach to testing
• Contribute to Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
• Perform automation testing using Selenium, Java, API testing (RestAssured), and JavaScript frameworks
• Write and execute test automation scripts
• Maintain and optimize existing test automation frameworks
• Conduct test estimation, planning, design, and progress reporting
• Utilize CI/CD tools like Jenkins/TeamCity/BitBucket
• Perform manual testing as needed
• Manage defects and understand the testing life cycle
• Set up test environments in complex technical settings
• Incorporate Non-Functional testing into test planning
• Manage test risks and ensure compliance with governance frameworks
• Ensure traceability of tests and capture evidence on JIRA and Confluence
• Create detailed test artefacts such as Test strategies and Test completion reports
• Facilitate sign-off of features with product owners/BAs
• Monitor CI builds/pipelines and troubleshoot failures
• Conduct system integration, regression, and acceptance testing
• Suggest improvements to the QA process
• Provide test estimations and maintain regression packs

Key Skills:

• Experience in core banking (highly regarded)
• Experience in digital projects (Online and Mobile Banking, Cloud technology)
• Performance testing using Gatling/Jmeter (desirable)
• Strong time management skills
• Hands-on test automation skills, API, and web automation experience
• Experience with distributed version control systems (Bitbucket, Git)
• Agile methodologies experience
• Proficient in User Story authoring and acceptance criteria definition
• Knowledge of BDD/TDD practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
