Summary: The Automation Test Manager for the Cloud Data Platform is a hands-on role focused on ensuring quality in complex cloud-based data environments. The position involves designing testing strategies, leading QA efforts, and developing automated tests for data platforms utilizing Microsoft Fabric and Azure technologies. The role requires collaboration with various teams to deliver scalable data solutions while embedding testing into CI/CD processes. This is an opportunity to work on a large-scale, greenfield data program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and executing a comprehensive testing strategy for data platforms built on Microsoft Fabric.
- Leading QA efforts across agile delivery squads.
- Developing automated tests for PySpark notebooks, ETL pipelines, and Delta tables.
- Embedding testing into CI/CD flows using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Creating reusable, parameter-driven test frameworks for data validation.
- Supporting data governance and compliance across the platform.
- Collaborating with engineers, architects, and DevOps teams to ensure scalable, high-quality data solutions.
- Overseeing test execution, reporting, and environment readiness.
Key Skills:
- Background in test management or QA leadership within modern data platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure tools, and Databricks.
- Experience building automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Nutter, Great Expectations).
- Familiarity with Medallion Architecture and Delta Lake.
- Skilled in CI/CD integration and Git version control.
- Comfortable working with various data types - structured, semi-structured, and unstructured.
