Summary: The Automation Test Engineer role involves working with a leading telecommunications company to enhance product quality through automated testing. The position requires expertise in Cypress and JavaScript, with responsibilities including developing test scripts, executing cross-browser testing, and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines. Candidates will work in Agile teams and contribute to continuous improvement in testing practices. This is a 6-month contract role based in Paddington, requiring hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress and JavaScript
- Execute cross-browser testing using tools like BrowserStack or LambdaTest
- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab)
- Collaborate closely with development and QA teams in Agile/Scrum environments
- Use tools like Jira, XRAY, and Confluence for test management and documentation
- Develop and maintain API test scripts using Postman or Ready API
- Conduct Accessibility Testing (WCAG 2.1 compliance) using industry-standard tools
- Identify, document, and track defects, and support the development team in issue resolution
- Provide insights to improve test strategy and QA process
Key Skills:
- Experience with writing automation scripts in Postman or Ready API
- Accessibility Testing (WCAG 2.1) experience using any industry standard tool set
- Strong experience in managing Cypress Automation, JavaScript
- Experience in cross-browser testing (BrowserStack/LambdaTest)
- Proficiency in integrating automation tests with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab
- Strong Agile/DevOps ways of working with good communication, and can work directly with the client
- Experience with test management tools such as Jira, XRAY, and Confluence
- In-depth knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
