Summary: The role of Battery Test Automation Engineer involves delivering automation tools to support the development and design verification of high voltage traction battery systems for an OEM client. The engineer will manage external test houses, lead the development of automation tools, and provide troubleshooting and diagnostic support for battery test automation tools. This position requires a strong technical background in programming, communication protocols, and data analysis within the automotive sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver automation tools for the development and design verification of HV Traction Battery Systems.
- Manage external test houses and lead the development of automation tools.
- Provide first line troubleshooting and diagnostic support for battery test automation tools.
- Manage issues across the battery test field.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in programming languages including CAPL, Python, and C++.
- Expertise in CAN/FlexRay/LIN/Ethernet communication protocols.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as AVL Concerto, CANalyzer, Tableau, and Minitab.
- Familiarity with automotive network interface tools like Vector CANalyzer/CANape/CANoe, INCA, and VehicleSpy.
- Comprehensive understanding of High Voltage HEV/BEV powertrain systems.
- Technical expertise in HV Battery and Charging technology.
- Ability to validate, prepare, and read engineering documents and electrical schematics.
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, Risk Assessment, COSHH, and SDS.
- Significant experience with data acquisition and control systems.
- Full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points, no disqualifications.

Looking for Battery Test Automation Engineer deployed to OEM Client: Delivery of automation tools in support of the development and design verification (DV) of HV Traction Battery Systems. External test houses managing automation tools, leading the development of these tools Responsibility for providing the first line trouble shooting and diagnostic support for all battery test automation tools and issue management across our battery test field.
