Summary: The Automation Test Engineer role focuses on developing and executing automated test scripts using Python and Playwright within a HealthTech consultancy. The position requires collaboration with development teams to ensure software quality and reliability, particularly in the public sector and NHS contexts. The role is initially for a duration of three months and requires a strong background in automation testing. The position is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement automated test scripts using Python & Playwright.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and design test cases that cover all functional and non-functional aspects.
  • Execute and maintain automated test suites to validate the functionality, performance, and security of our software applications.
  • Identify, track, and report defects, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of issues and implement corrective actions to improve the overall quality of our software.
  • Continuously enhance and optimize the automation testing framework and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective test coverage and participate in agile development practices.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience as an Automation Test Engineer, with a focus on Python & Playwright.
  • NHS and/or public sector work experience is a major advantage.
  • Solid understanding of automated testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium.
  • Proficient in designing and implementing test automation scripts using Python & Playwright.
  • Experience with version control systems (eg, Git) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
