Summary: The Automation Tester role in Basildon, UK, focuses on supporting Digital Portal and Transaction Processing projects within Merchant Acquisition and Payment Processing programs. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform functional and automation testing for digital portal and payment processing applications.
- Design and execute integration tests, system tests, regression tests, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Translate functional requirements into test automation scripts.
- Plan, prepare, and execute manual and automated test cases and scenarios.
- Analyse test results, identify defects, and report issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business teams, and other Fiserv teams to achieve quality and delivery objectives.
- Provide regular status updates and test reports to project stakeholders.
- Participate in test strategy discussions, QA meetings, and project delivery reviews.
- Identify opportunities to improve testing tools, automation approaches, and QA processes.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5–6 years of experience in QA testing (manual and automation).
- Experience in transaction processing systems and digital portal testing.
- Good understanding of the payments processing lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with testing tools such as JIRA or HP Quality Centre.
- Experience with SQL for data testing and validation.
- Familiarity with terminal testing and transaction processing systems.
- Experience testing POS Terminals such as: PAX Ingenico Clover.
- Knowledge of card schemes including: Visa MasterCard American Express Diners Club JCB.
- Experience with Card Simulators and Digital Portal testing.
- Knowledge of ETL testing (SQL / ODI).
- Previous experience working with a payment processing or fintech company.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality focus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
