Summary: The Automation Engineer will be responsible for commissioning controls systems for a new automation line as part of a global program focused on updating materials handling automation systems. This role involves troubleshooting with remote software experts and collaborating with electrical and mechanical installation vendors. The position is a PAYE contract for 6 months, with potential for permanent employment, and requires travel across Europe. Daily reporting on progress is also a key expectation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning of controls systems for a new automation line.
- Troubleshooting issues with support from remote software experts.
- Interacting with electrical and mechanical installation vendors and site stakeholders.
- Providing daily reports on progress.
- Completing the ADTA commissioning procedure, ensuring schedule and quality.
- Staying on-site for up to 2 weeks (night-shift) for initial launches to support operations.
Key Skills:
- Qualification (Degree/Other) in Industrial Automation.
- Advanced technical expertise in industrial automation systems (TIA Portal 16+, Codesys 3.5, HMI, VFDs, Profinet, IO-Link).
- Proficiency in programming and configuring with TIA Portal 16+.
- Proficiency in Codesys 3.5 (preferred) or knowledge of Siemens PLC/TIA.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities for complex systems.
- Hands-on experience with camera systems and Linux OS (preferred).
