Summary: A leading pharmaceutical organization is seeking a Senior MES Automation Engineer for a hybrid role in the UK, focusing on complex MES initiatives within a regulated environment. This position involves leading the design and implementation of MES solutions across manufacturing sites. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and support of MES solutions across manufacturing sites.
- Define MES architectures in line with ISA-95 / ISA-88 standards.
- Configure and customise MES platforms to support production, quality, traceability, and performance.
- Integrate MES with PLC/SCADA systems, historians, and enterprise systems (ERP, databases).
- Act as a senior technical authority for IT/OT integration and data flows.
- Support commissioning, testing (FAT/SAT), and go-live activities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Contribute to project planning, estimations, and technical decision-making.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in a senior MES and/or automation engineering role.
- Hands-on experience with MES platforms such as Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Werum PAS-X, Apriso, Ignition, or similar.
- Solid background in industrial automation (PLC, SCADA, HMI).
- Experience with systems integration and SQL/databases.
