Automation Engineer

Summary: The Senior Automation Engineer role is a contract position focused on supporting the DeltaV workstream at a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in the UK. The engineer will collaborate with systems integrators and engineering vendors to ensure project deliverables align with requirements while maintaining communication with senior stakeholders. This position involves overseeing DCS systems and ensuring compliance with S88 standards, as well as leading automation projects from design to commissioning. The role offers a long-term contract opportunity with a client heavily investing in both greenfield and brownfield projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the overall delivery of DeltaV workstream at a pharmaceutical plant.
• Collaborate with systems integrators and engineering vendors to meet project needs.
• Liaise with senior stakeholders to ensure clear communication.
• Ensure all software is compliant with S88 standards.
• Take multiple DCS systems from design to commissioning and qualification on site.
• Lead the downstream equipment scope of the project to meet deadlines.

Key Skills:

• Five years plus DeltaV design, configuration, and testing experience.
• GAMP 5 experience.
• Experience leading small to medium automation teams.
• Experience leading DeltaV projects from design to completion.
• Ability to work within a high-performing team.
• Background in Automation (complete life cycle).
• Strong experience in DeltaV, PLCs, HMIs, and OSI PI.
• Certified completion of DeltaV DCS training.
