Summary: The Audit Manager (Program Assurance) role involves leading independent assurance reviews of projects and programs, with a focus on governance, risk management, and internal controls. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of internal audit experience, preferably in a safety-critical industry. The role is hybrid, based in Farringdon, and is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of audit plans and execute program assurance reviews to ensure project objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of a comprehensive audit plan for stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute program assurance reviews, focusing on key risk areas.
  • Draft audit scope documentation for approval by the Head of IA.
  • Design and prepare the Risk and Control Matrix and testing procedures.
  • Execute audit testing and data analysis to meet quality and timeline expectations.
  • Document audit findings for presentation to business stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review quality workpapers to support audit conclusions.
  • Coordinate with audit team members to meet engagement objectives.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to audit findings and develop recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with Internal Audit management and business management.
  • Manage assigned workload and provide support to junior team members.
  • Assist in preparing materials for Audit Committee and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in and lead ad-hoc projects as needed.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of internal audit and/or program assurance experience.
  • Project management qualification is a plus.
  • Experience in a safety-critical industry preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of internal audit best practices and risk management.
  • Ability to analyze complex processes and assess control effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present issues and recommendations clearly.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
