Summary: The Assurance Administrator role at SKAO involves providing administrative support across various functions within the Assurance department, which is integral to the management of a large international science project. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, supporting tasks related to travel, procurement, and departmental initiatives. The role is fixed-term for 12 months and is based at the SKAO Headquarters in Jodrell Bank, Cheshire, UK. Candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of nationality, although relocation support is not available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake administrative support for travel planning, including complex travel needs and expense claims.
  • Provide administrative support for procurements, including raising purchase orders.
  • Assist the CPS Co-Director with membership applications and correspondence management.
  • Maintain Confluence pages and Jira projects for Assurance staff.
  • Support recruitment and retention efforts within the Assurance department.
  • Assist in managing audit and enterprise architecture development activities.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of the Observatory Risk Register.
  • Administer training and awareness campaigns related to health and safety.
  • Assist the Director of Assurance with departmental management tasks.
  • Occasionally travel nationally and internationally as required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as allocated by the Director.

Key Skills:

  • Significant experience in an administrative support role.
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Google Docs, Slack, Zoom, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience in coordinating events, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-managing and adaptable in a diverse team environment.
  • Desirable: Experience with large international science infrastructure enterprises.
  • Desirable: Experience configuring collaboration tools and managing Confluence and Jira projects.
