Summary: An Associate Finance Controller position is available in Glasgow, offering a hybrid working arrangement within a global financial institution's External Reporting team. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive regulatory balance sheet-based external reports in accordance with European requirements and internal policies.
- Draft detailed commentary and analysis to support financial disclosures, ensuring clarity and accuracy for senior management review.
- Oversee the end-to-end production process for quarterly reporting cycles, ensuring timely delivery against strict deadlines.
- Identify and troubleshoot data issues during production cycles by communicating effectively with relevant stakeholders and escalating concerns when necessary.
- Respond promptly to review questions raised on produced disclosures, providing clear explanations and supporting documentation as required.
- Present disclosures and analytical findings to members of Finance Senior Management, facilitating informed decision-making across the business.
- Develop a thorough understanding of evolving disclosure requirements and internal policies to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain up-to-date written procedures documents, ensuring robust controls are documented and adhered to throughout all reporting activities.
- Contribute actively to projects focused on implementing new regulatory requirements or improving production processes through digital tooling initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across Product Control, Finance Technology, Legal Entity Control, Accounting Policy Group, and other key teams.
Key Skills:
- CA/ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in financial or regulatory reporting within a large-scale organisation or financial services environment.
- Proven ability to work with large datasets using advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Word is also important for documentation purposes.
- Familiarity with digital tooling such as Alteryx or PowerBI would be advantageous for process improvement initiatives.
- A solid understanding of IFRS accounting standards and European regulatory frameworks is preferred.
- Experience in balance sheet controller reporting or similar roles adds significant value to your application.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for effective escalation of issues and clear presentation of complex information to senior stakeholders.
