Assistant VP - Finance & Control Financial Reporting

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting monthly and quarterly closing processes, ensuring accurate recording of accruals and prepayments.
  • Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger corrections, ensuring proper classification of P&L and balance sheet items.
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly Head Office reporting packages in compliance with JGAAP/IFRS.
  • Driving the preparation of internal and external reports while coordinating across internal teams.
  • Acting as a key contact during the annual external audit process, ensuring timely delivery of audit requirements.
  • Collaborating with auditors, regulators, and stakeholders to enhance governance and reporting accuracy.
  • Supporting management with detailed expense, headcount, and fixed asset analysis, delivering insights for decision-making.
  • Identifying issues, proposing solutions, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Providing guidance and coaching to junior staff to strengthen team capability.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience in finance, with strong exposure to financial and management reporting, preferably in a banking environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with knowledge of Power BI or Power Query as a desirable asset.
  • Oracle system experience.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge and experience is essential
  • Strong technical knowledge across period-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Proven ability to analyse financial data, identify issues, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative spirit with a proactive approach to supporting colleagues.
