Summary: The Assistant Site Manager will support the Project Manager in overseeing construction activities for a residential project on a freelance basis. This role involves supervising subcontractors and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential construction and be capable of problem-solving on-site challenges. A valid CSCS card and a driving license are preferred qualifications for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, organising, and overseeing construction activities
- Ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met
- Supervise subcontractors, labourers, and suppliers on a daily basis
- Monitor work progress and ensure that construction activities are carried out according to approved plans and schedules
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and according to safety regulations and company policies
- Coordinate the delivery and use of materials, equipment, and resources
- Identify any on-site issues or problems and resolve them promptly to avoid delays
- Escalate major issues to the Site Manager and assist in finding solutions
Key Skills:
- Previous experience working on residential site, ideally 2+ years in a similar role
- Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations
- Strong subcontractor experience
- Ability to work under pressure and problem-solve on-site challenges
- Valid CSCS card (or similar qualification) preferred
- Driving license required
